Broken New Year Resolutions

Tweet Me
As we near the end of 2012 and merge into 2013, our ears are ringing from hearing the many New Year's Resolutions. Some will make a plausible effort to conquer their goals. While others will only say what they'd like to do but never make the necessary sacrifices one must endure to achieve the goals they so desire.

This brings me to my question. Have New Year Resolutions become a Myth/Urban Legend of the past? Have you personally witnessed anyone who've actually stayed true to their Resolution to one day run up the many stairs like Rocky in celebration of their journey? How about the infamous diet resolution? Most women will make this promise to themselves and to the world only to gain twenty more pounds from the traditional "New Year's Dinner" that they'll promise to lose by Summer. But, once Summer hits, they throw in the towel, wave the white flag in defeat, and purchase a one piece swimsuit with the largest wrap to hide their "problem" areas.

What are you prepared to do in order to follow through with your Resolution? Do you plan to shy away from the social scene to dedicate more time to your personal goals/project for 2013? I tend to abstain from making the New Year Resolution. I'd much rather set goals throughout the year on a continuous basis in order to attain my ultimate goal. Be more committed and passionate about the things you desire.

Resolutions sound good when you're speaking them aloud. But, if you can't endure the hard work it takes to achieve those goals---speaking them would only defeat the purpose of sharing your news with others! Dream what you'd like to do. Plan your steps. Follow through with that plan making every effort. Then relish in your accomplishments. It doesn't matter how big or small your goal may be, the fact is you did it!

So, what do Resolutions mean to you?
